Challenge
Solarcore came to us with an audacious vision — to make the most advanced thermal insulation technology on the planet feel as powerful as it performs.
Built on a decade of innovation by founders Michael and Rithvik, Solarcore had developed a breakthrough material powered by Aerogel — the same insulation used by NASA — capable of delivering warmth with virtually no bulk.But the brand lacked cohesion. They needed an identity system and framework that could scale — across industries, partners, and product form factors — and tell one unified story. Solarcore had to work both as a stand-alone brand and an ingredient brand powering others. The challenge: create a brand world as bold, technical, and adaptive as the material itself.
Discovery
We began by grounding ourselves in the science. Aerogel is composed of 99.8% air, making it the lowest-density solid on Earth — an impossibly light yet powerful material. That paradox became our creative starting point.
We studied its molecular structures, its shifting forms, and how light travels through it. The story wasn’t just about insulation — it was about human ingenuity. The founders’ dream of “standing on top of Mount Hood in a
t-shirt” became a metaphor for limitless potential.From that insight, we built a creative strategy rooted in contrast: warmth and cold, earth and space, science and spirit.

We translated Solarcore’s scientific precision into a design system built for expansion — adaptable, modern, and visually iconic.
Identity & System:
The new Solarcore® logo and wordmark balance geometric rigor with warmth and approachability — designed to hold its own as a hero brand or integrate seamlessly as an ingredient mark.Color & Energy:
The core palette pairs Sc_Mist and Sc_SpaceBlack, neutral tones inspired by daylight and outer space. The Sc_Spectrum — a dynamic range from heat (red) to cold (blue) — acts as a living gradient system, visually expressing the science of temperature itself.Visual Language:
We developed proprietary molecular-inspired visuals that bring Aerogel to life. Floating, tactile forms shift and refract — evoking movement, depth, and the invisible power of air.Form Factors:
To highlight Solarcore’s three material applications, we created motion assets that celebrate each form factor’s unique properties — light, dynamic, and otherworldly. Each scene feels like being suspended in orbit, yet grounded in tangible design.
This world extended beyond visuals — into tone, motion, and behavior — ensuring that whether Solarcore appeared on a product, a trade show screen, or a scientific white paper, it always felt visionary and human.
